Social Class

We watched a movie in class and many things stood out to me I had my own idea of the lower, middle, upper class but I was way off. In the video there was a part where the guy said that someone would buy a spoon that they could've gotten at Walmart for a cheaper price but they didn't because they wanted a certain brand or if they were Italian they'd buy things that had Italian names on the items. In schools kids judged others based on their hair, the clothes they wore , the way they walked & talked , and also depending on the things they had. There was a teacher that said kids were driving around cars that were worth more money than he made in a year. The kids that came from parents who had money would brag about the things they had. One thing that made me a little angry in this video was the boy who was ashamed of his mom. He thought he was  a different class from her but in reality he's just in the same spot as his mom. I think that's so sad that his mom has to walk to work everyday in whatever type of weather there is she has no choice because they have no car. He may not have the biggest or fanciest house but he should appreciate the things his mom does for him.
When it comes to me and my family after seeing this film I feel like I'm spoiled I have way more things than I really need. I have so much clothes it doesn't fit in my closet anymore and I keep buying more. After this film I honestly felt bad living  like this because there's so much people all around the world that have absolutely nothing.
